I have a wealth of clinical experience gained in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. As a Health Professional, I have worked in Paediatrics, A&E Paediatric triage, Communicable Diseases, Surgical and Medical in hospitals, clinics and corporate health. Additional to my clinical experience, I have studied areas of neuroscience, and how the brain processes our thoughts, emotions, memory and consciousness and how they affect our health.
It is scientifically evident that the management of our thoughts and emotions is one of our strongest elements for recovery, wellness and change.
My passion and interest in mind health began during placements at a Neurological hospital and in a Psychiatric unit in London. I became interested in how the mind works and how the mind’s thinking system affects our health. I have since studied and explored ways to treat mind health naturally, that have no side-effects and are non-addictive.
In today’s world many people know very little about how their own mind works and what it can do to better serve them in their health and life. Once we become aware of its existence and what it does, we can make the necessary changes to lead a more fulfilled life which can help us achieve our lifestyle wishes and desires.
To acknowledge and understand our own belief systems that we have formed over the years since childhood is an enlightening step to take if we find change in certain areas of our life and health difficult to achieve. This is often because the programmed subconscious mind and our belief system don’t support this change. Therefore, we have to make the commitment and decision to change those beliefs that are stored in our subconscious mind that don’t serve our life anymore, and to make the conscious effort to change the limiting programmes that we repetitively run.
Everything begins with a thought …
Your thoughts are powerful. They carry energy, and every thought has an emotion and an image associated with it, then you action that thought. The body always reacts to the mind, therefore your thoughts can affect your health either negatively or positively. This is why managing stress is so important. Fortunately the subconscious mind is always open to change.
The subconscious mind makes up about 95% of our total brainpower, and it stores all of our memories, beliefs, fears, habits, addictions and all our life experiences. About 90% of our daily thoughts are the same thoughts as the day before, and a high percentage (about 70%) of those thoughts will come from a subconscious programme that may be having a negative effect on our health and our relationships with other people. Until we become aware of these programmes and how they can dominate our thinking we may find ourselves leading a life where making change is difficult. I use the science of Hypnosis to help clients relax the mind and nervous system down to theta brainwave, a space we are all naturally in at least twice a day, drifting into sleep and waking up. This brainwave is the perfect place to make the necessary changes in the subconscious mind. It is suggestible and absorbs information like a sponge, but the new information does need to be repeated many times over, as the mind learns by repetition. The analytical mind relaxes in theta so there are no critical thoughts getting in the way. Hypnosis goes straight to the subconscious mind.
It is difficult to create a new future if we are holding on to the old beliefs from our past.
This explains why people find changing an unwanted health habit so difficult. Put simply, a habit is an action that we have repeated so many times that our body carries out the action automatically, without needing to think about it anymore. This is when we see the body take control over the mind. We need to therefore bring the mind back into control and become aware of our thoughts.
The conscious mind makes up the remaining 5% of our brain power. This is our learning mind, logical and creative mind. You are using this mind right now reading this.
I’m a Reiki energy practitioner, and I understand how the energy system can positively affect the body and mind on a cellular level. It calms, balances and harmonises, bringing the human system back into homeostasis and coherence. It is highly effective for improving immune health that is so important in today’s world. Your mind-body-energy systems are all interconnected.
Reduce the distance from where you are today to where you want to be. I will help you to build that bridge towards achieving your future health goals.
Your health takes priority. I will always give personalised care because you are unique and one size does not fit all! Mentally, emotionally, energetically and physically we are all different, we all hold different experiences in life, which affect us in different ways. So it makes sense that the only way forward is to individualise your care and to form an awareness and understanding of how your mind works.
I also see client’s at Evergreen Doctors Functional Medicine in Sydney, working as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and a Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming.
All you have to bring along to the sessions is commitment, a clear vision of your desired outcome and a belief that you are worth it, because you are …
I look forward to working with you!
