About your incredible conscious and subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind is more than a million times more powerful than the conscious mind when it comes to neurological processing abilities. (Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D.)

The subconscious mind is our programmed mind. A place where we hold our memory, beliefs, habits, fears, addictions, emotions and patterns of thought, to name a few. This forms our personality. How our mind has been programmed controls our life, vitality and behaviour. Due to its function, the subconscious mind is like an operating system that sometimes needs to be updated to keep our thoughts healthy, to work in alignment with what we want to achieve in our life, now and in our future.  Once our mind is thinking in a healthier way and working towards growth and success, we will automatically want to look after ourselves and the things around us.

Knowing that we can change our thoughts and feelings means that it is possible to change our personality and our behaviour. The subconscious mind is the route to change. Willpower alone is often not enough.
The conscious mind on the other hand is our logical mind, the creative mind and the learning mind. If we study, read a book, write a journal for example, we are using our conscious mind. The conscious mind is our here and now mind and can lead to programs and information being stored in our subconscious mind.

The power of the subconscious mind..

Research has discovered that about 90% of our daily thoughts, are the same thoughts as the day before …

We have known for a long time that we are running a set of programmes from our subconscious mind about 95% of the time, compared to 5% of our conscious mind. So, if we do the maths, we do not want our subconscious mind to run negative, limiting programmes. We want it to run healthy mindset programmes, as it is significantly more powerful than our conscious mind.  It is therefore important for our mind to work effectively in our favour for a healthy life and to be very aware of our thoughts and our thinking system. Our thoughts affect our emotions and both affect what we do and how we act.

The good news is once we become aware of where we are struggling in our life, we have an opportunity to do something about any known dysfunctional subconscious programmes that are holding us back from what we want to achieve in our life and in our health. These disempowering subconscious programmes can be changed or replaced by using certain techniques that reprogram the mind. One of the ways the subconscious mind learns, is by repetition, and by repeating an action, a neural pathway is created in the brain.
